The story revolves around Cecelia, Rachel and Tess.
Cecelia has it all. Or at least she thought she had until she stumbles upon a letter written by her husband that is only to be opened after his death. Incredibly Cecelia resists the urge to open the letter at first. I think i'd have ripped it open straight away! Her husband tries to explain it away, saying he wrote it on a whim one night. The truth however will have far more severe consequences.
I loved Cecelia. She tries so hard to keep it all together but inside shes torn between doing whats right and being loyal to her husband.
Tess thought she had the perfect marriage until her husband will confesses that he has fallen in love with her cousin Felicity. To get away from it all she runs away to Sydney with her son Liam in an effort to try and figure out which way her life is going. She ends up running straight into her past which makes her question where her future will be.
Have to say I didn't gel to Tess' character as well. She tended to be a little hypocritical in her treatment of others.
From the day Rachel's daughter was found dead in the park every day has been a struggle for her. Everything reminds her of her daughter and the life events she will miss. She becomes obsessed with trying to find her killer, years after the trail has gone cold. Even so she's convinced shes found the person who took everything from her.
I loved this story so much. The 3 different parts are woven together so well. The end of each chapter leaves you hungry for the next. I raced through this because I couldn't put it down.
I'm very hard to please when it comes to endings but I loved this one. It was so perfectly wrapped up.
I also read that there going to turn it into a film. Personally I think it will be a great movie if its cast well.
Definitely one to add to the To Read list
