Review - The Dinner by Herman Coch

Published:  2nd May 2013 by Atlantic books
Format: eBook
Pages: 320

To start take two brothers, The rich one with an inflated sense of entitlement and the seemly down to earth pauper.

Fold gently into an expensive restaurant with 2 wives in toe.

Sprinkle with light conversation as empty as the minuscule plates of food.

For the main grill up some flaming tempers and serve with a side salad of violence and deception. Season to taste with envy

Sweeten the bitter after-taste with a large cool bowl of betrayal.

To finish, turn a blind eye.

With The dinner Herman Koch bravely attempts to capture our attention with an array of truly despicable characters. Does it work? Yes.

It really brings new meaning to the phrase "You do for family". Are these families to be abhored or admired for the lengths they will go to protect their own flesh and blood? That is for the reader to decide.

There isn't much more to say about this book that hasn't already been said other than that I highly recommend it
