Guest Post: Ideas for the Beginner in Scrapbooking Your Spiritual Legacy by @DonnaRinerWeber

13:58

Are you feeling that God is nudging you to leave some messages or some of your personal stories of Faith? If you don’t share your stories, or your favorite verses, who
will?

You are the only one who can share the Spiritual Message which God has planted in your heart.

I feel it is NO accident that you are reading this right now.

Our world has changed a lot. Our children and grandchildren must be taught that they will experience trials and hardships but that if they will allow Jesus, He will be with them through everything. He will give them hope, love and comfort.

Scrapbooking Your Faith (or Faithbooking) is an excellent way to Share God’s presence in your life today as well as in the future.

Guest post:

Are you a Christian who is interested in sending a message to influence people you love or perhaps some you will never meet in the future? Are you just beginning to think about creating a Spiritual Legacy?

If so, these are 3 important ideas to consider as you begin.

1. Begin writing your story of Faith or creating your Spiritual Legacy layout with a prayer.

So let’s do that now.

Jesus, Thank you for guiding Your Future Faithbooker to this article. She is obviously interested in sending Your message to future generations or she would not be reading this. I ask that You please

direct her mind to thoughts and occasions of how and when she felt Your presence in very real and meaningful ways—maybe even sometimes in Supernatural ways.

Lord, please empower her words as she writes her stories about how you’ve answered her prayers or pens her prayers of Blessings for her loved ones. As she shares her experiences with others, let her readers be moved by her Spiritual Story and guide them to a closer walk with You.

Thank you for this Faithbooking Friend. I ask that you will please Bless her in her journey to share You with her loved ones today as well as people she may never meet in the future.

We ask for these things In Your Powerful Name. Amen

2. Focus on Your Message of Faith.

“Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord.” PS 102:18 (NIV)

What message has God placed in your heart? Is it a lesson about values such as the importance of honesty? Or do you have a special story about how a prayer was answered for you and/or your family?

The main idea is to keep focused on God’s divine presence and intervention in your life. Put it in written form so that the story can be passed on to future generations.

Perhaps, you think “well, I’ll just tell them one day.”

Maybe you will but much of what we hear unfortunately we don’t remember.

My Dad was one of the best storytellers I’ve ever known. He could tell a story that would make your cheeks hurt, tears run down your face and your sides feel like they were going to split from laughing. But when Daddy went to Heaven, many of his stories ended.

I wish we had some of his stories preserved to share with future generations. They were awesome stories but those stories, which we can’t remember, are lost forever.

Today it’s important that we, as Christians, preserve the stories of God’s presence in our lives. We have an obligation to tell future generations that life will not be perfect but that God will be with them and help them through the rough times. He was with us and He will be with them.

3. Learn as much as you can about Faithbooking.
“God has given each of you some special abilities; be sure to use them to help each other, passing on to others God’s many kinds of blessings.” 1 Pet 4:10 (TLB)

Check the local craft stores for “Scrapbook” classes. In these classes you’ll learn more about the techniques used in both scrapbooking and Faithbooking.

Sometimes local churches offer “Faithbooking” classes. Call around in your community. Faithbooking classes may teach both the techniques of scrapbooking along with how to include your “Faith” in your Faithbook layouts.

Conduct some online searches for Faithbook classes and books.

On Amazon you’ll find my Kindle book which was written especially for beginners to Faithbooking.
