I've been to Egypt around 5 times now but I still want to go back! I am in love with this country. It's steeped in history. I prefer Luxor over Cairo. There was nothing nicer than cruising down the Nile in sail boat at sunset with Luxor temple in the background :)
As for books I've read a few that are set in Egypt including:
I love Michelle Moran. If you like a historical fiction that's not too heavy then check her out
Have a great weekend!

Egypt seems like a great place to visit. I hope to get to see it at least once in my life. (I'd definitely have to visit the Eiffel Tower when I go to Paris at least once. I'd feel like I was missing something if I didn't) Thanks for dropping by my FF. Old follower :)

I've yearned to visit Egypt for years! Though the political turmoil recently does make the prospect a bit scary. Of course I want to see the pyramids on the Giza Plateau & the Valley of the Kings, but I also want to get a look at Luxor (Thebes), the Abusir Necropolis, Memphis and Saqqara, there are just too many sites to name and it would take more than one trip to get it all in. However, the very first place I want to see is Abu Simbel. Its history fascinates me - the ingenuity it took to build it combined with the ingenuity it took from modern engineers to move it. Remarkable.
ReplyDeleteI am still dying to get to Abu Simel! So Far I've only made it is far as aswan and that was tough in the heat! Abu Simbel is 6 hours from Luxor
DeleteOh gosh yes! I would love to go to Egypt.
