"Special Agent Will Trent has something to hide. Something he doesn't want Dr Sara Linton - the woman he loves - to find out.
He's gone undercover in Macon, Georgia and put his life at risk. And he knows Sara will never forgive him if she discovers the truth.
But when a young patrolman is shot and left for dead Sara is forced to confront the past and a woman she hoped never to see again. And without even knowing it, she becomes involved in the same case Will is working on.
Soon both of their lives are in danger."

When I first opened Unseen I was delighted to see that Lena, one of my favourite characters was back on the scene. I felt that Criminal was really missing a balsy character because of her absence. Her behaviour has been toned down a lot in this book though, probably because of all she has been through. Lena finally seems to just want to get her life together. It seems like this may be the last we will see of her?

Rather than focusing on homicide, Unseen is dedicated to narcotics. Will and his team are going after "Big whitey". A name that's been connected to almost all recent drug related crime in the area. Of course Sarah being her usually whiney self absorbed self has to follow him. Will ends up worrying more about her than preventing himself getting shot.

On the whole Unseen left me feeling a little deflated. This is just due to personal taste though. I missed the forensics and autopsies involved in the homicide cases. The detail is what made it interesting to me. There is only a certain number of outcomes when drugs are involved. either one or both parties end up dead. Not much room for playing around without messing with believability.

So, if you are a fan of the narcotic elements of Karin's novels then you will love the latest instalment. If not then you may find it drags a little.
